ColdHubs Limited has revealed that its Logistics unit will be launched before the end of the first quarter of 2022.
ColdHubs Logistics as it is known will offer Refrigerated Transportation Services for fruits and vegetables, the very first within Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
The launching of ColdHubs Logistics will further consolidate on the work being done by the company, with its present operation of 54 ColdHubs in 22 states of Nigeria.
The CEO of ColdHubs Limited said the Logistics unit which will make the company complete the cold-chain cycle, closing a missing gap in the Nigerian cold chain space.
He said that the absence of refrigerated transportation service has increased post-harvest losses in Nigeria and as one of the leading companies working to flatten the food spoilage curve in Nigeria.
As a pilot, ColdHubs will be rolling out trucks that will operate along two routes with four pickup points at the moment. The routes are:
Route 1: Pick Up - Farin Gada Market Jos
Drop Off - Mile 12 Market, Lagos
Pick Up - Lagos
Drop Off - Zuba Market, Abuja.
Route 2: Pick Up - Dan Magaji Market, Zaria
Drop Off - Mile 12 Market, Lagos
Pick Up - Lagos
Drop Off - Yankaba Market, Kano

ColdHubs Supply Chain Officer, Mr. Princewill Dike said that their main goal has always been to see people have safe, healthy and nutritious food on their table, adding that as a new service they have put a lot in place to get things running.
“No one has done this for fruits and vegetables at this level and no one has committed this amount of resources to see that people have healthy food on their table”
“We understand that this is a missing link having built solar-powered cold rooms across the country and we understand that if we have this running, the losses encountered during the transportation of fruits and vegetables in Nigeria will be drastically reduced”, Mr. Dike said.
He further stated that the available trucks are just for kick-off and the organization is working on bringing in more trucks within the year.
