In 2023, Coldhubs will launch an additional 10 units of 20-ton refrigerated logistic trucks and 5 vans for small shuttle businesses.
Princewill Dike. who is the company’s Supply Chain Officer (SCO), said that the 15 vehicles which will go into operation in 2023 will further help reduce post-harvest losses in fruits and vegetables especially.
Having commenced operations in 2022, ColdHubs Logistics is providing an alternative means of transportation for perishables with all best practices in mind and Princewill said that the move to acquire new trucks is in line with the mission and vision of the company.
"Since our innovation came on board, we have helped businessmen, traders, and farmers, especially those in the Northern states of Nigeria, in conveying their produce, such as seafood, vegetables, and fruits", Princewill said.
"Alhaji Musa Ali, one of the users of the ColdHubs Refrigerated Trucks, shared his testimony of the efficiency of the facilities saying “I heard about ColdHubs logistics at Mile 12 in Lagos; at first, when the team came to me and some other traders, we doubted the possibilities because of previous years' experience. We have never experienced the harvest and transportation of our products without losing any”
“In fact, we are used to it, to such an extent that we no longer count it as a loss. It took me so much time before I agreed to convey my products to my customers through their trucks”
“The first time I used it was during the traffic jams along Abuja-Lokoja; the trucks lasted for 3 to 4 days on the road, yet my products were safe and fresh. As a result, some of my friends lost a lot of money, and their products got spoiled due to high temperatures. I can honestly say that the innovation has improved my income over the past few months”
