Agric Tech company, ColdHubs has bagged Belfer Center’s Environment and Natural Resources Program (ENRP), 10th Roy Family Award for Environmental Partnership.
The Award was presented to ColdHubs in partnership with the Smallholders Foundation of Nigeria, the Institute for Air Handling and Refrigeration (ILK Dresden) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS), on November 2.
The HKS Senior Lecturer in Public Policy, Arash Deep, who moderated a panel on partnerships to meet global climate and sustainable development goals said that the work is remarkable and that the innovation and impact with environmental and social benefits is striking.
The Founder and CEO of Nnemeka Ikegwuonu appreciated the organization for recognizing ColdHubs and their efforts to keep fruits,vegetables, fish and meats fresh across developing countries.
Ikegwuonu assured that ColdHubs will do better in years to improve and bring innovation that will increase farmers produce and food security.
According to him, the organization has begun expansion into Sierra Leone and is planning expansion into the Republics of Benin and Senegal as well.
So far, we have created a lot of impact with our innovation in saving over 1,040,688kg of carbon dioxide emanated from generator fumes and also created jobs for unemployed women.
