ColdHubs is partnering with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) to set up an off-grid cold storage system in a Refugees Market in Mtwara Region of Tanzania.
Aga Khan Foundation East Africa is the project local partners.
The pilot will include designing, assembling, installing and commissioning one ColdHub in the fruits, vegetables and other perishables market.
The pilot project test will be a field and demonstration test. ColdHubs will employ sensory and instrumental measures, for technological and business operations, assessment and data gathering.
Results from the pilot phase, will be tested against potential for scaling throughout Tanzania and other countries.
