The Chief Executive Officer of ColdHubs has received the Farm Worker Employer Award at this year’s Farm Workers Appreciation Day held on August 6, 2023, at Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Nigeria.
The Department of Agricultural Sciences at the Alvan Ikoku College of Education has honored Nnaemeka for his immense contribution towards the growth and development of the agricultural sector and the enhancement of food security in Africa.
Speaking at the event, Peace Amanze, the Head of Department, said the award is aimed at encouraging and appreciating farmers' dedication to increasing food production for the nation.
"It is also designed to empower and energize the social and intellectual impact provided by the organization towards reducing food waste and increasing farmers profit," she stated.
She eulogizes the ColdHubs Team for its innovations and numerous post-harvest education training conducted across the country for farmers, while noting that farmers testify to the impact of the program and innovations.
According to Peace, Nnaemeka’s recognition is a result of his continuous efforts to develop strategies and sustainable innovations that improve the lives of smallholder farmers.
She thanked the CEO of ColdHubs for his support and contribution towards the establishment of a new agricultural laboratory in the institute while appealing to the government to support and appreciate farmers through providing incentives and grants.
The Head of Administration and Human Resources, Victor Ogbonna, who represented the Nnaemeka at the event, commended the institute for recognizing ColdHub's impacts on agriculture.
Ogbonna stressed that ColdHubs will continue to provide solutions that will improve agricultural productivity in Africa.
