THE LAUNCH OF COLDHUBS
Juapong Ghana.
From Nigeria to Ghana, ColdHubs is taking another bold step towards transforming Africa’s agricultural future.
On the 25th day of June, we reached a defining milestone with the launch of our first cold storage hub in Juapong, Ghana- a strategic expansion that strenghtens our resolve to expand beyond Nigeria.
More than the opening of a new facility, this milestone reflects our commitment to making sustainable cold chain infrastructure accessible to more farmers, traders, and agribusinesses across the continent.
The vision of the Ghana Hub was made possible through the generous support of the Shell Foundation under its Startup Discovery School Programme.
The Ghana expansion reinforces the power of innovation and collaboration in tackling one of Africa’s greatest agricultural challenges which is post-harvest loss.

Read on to discover how strategic partnerships, knowledge sharing, and climate-smart technology is shaping a more resilient future for agriculture in Africa and beyond.
Recognising the fact that infrastructure alone is not enough to transform food systems. The hub launch was complemented by a Post-Harvest Management Workshop, co-organised by Complete Farmer and ColdHubs.
The workshop brought together farmers, traders, aggregators, and other stakeholders for practical, hands-on training on post-harvest handling, produce preservation, food safety, and the critical role of cold chain technology in reducing food loss.

Participants gained valuable insights into best practices across harvesting, transportation, handling, packaging, and storage. They also learned how ColdHubs’ affordable pay-as-you-store model helps smallholder farmers and traders preserve produce quality, minimise waste, and maximise income.
The enthusiasm and engagement throughout the sessions reflected a growing recognition of the role cold chain solutions play in improving livelihoods, strengthening food systems, and building agricultural resilience.
A Shared Vision for Africa’s Agricultural Future
ColdHubs’ expansion into Ghana reflects our unwavering commitment to reducing post-harvest losses, enhancing food security, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for farming communities across Africa.
This milestone also demonstrates the power of strategic partnerships. We extend our sincere appreciation to Shell Foundation for its visionary support in scaling climate-smart innovation, and to Complete Farmer for collaborating with us to equip farmers and traders with the knowledge and practical tools they need to thrive.
The opening of our Ghana hub is more than the inauguration of a new facility. It marks the strengthening of regional collaboration, the expansion of Africa’s cold chain infrastructure, and another significant step towards a future where fresh produce is preserved, farmers earn more from every harvest, and post-harvest losses are drastically reduced.
As ColdHubs continues to expand beyond borders, our purpose remains steadfast: Keeping it Fresh while transforming Africa’s agricultural value chain-one community and one cold hub at a time.
