ColdHubs Ltd. (www.coldhubs.com) is a social enterprise that designs, installs, commissions, and operates 100% solar-powered 3tons, 10tons and 100tons walk-in cold rooms branded as "ColdHubs", in markets and farm clusters. The Hubs are used by smallholder farmers, retailers, and wholesalers, to store and preserve fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable foods 24/7, extending their shelf life from 2 days to 21 days. 

In addition to deploying cold storages, ColdHubs offers world class refrigerated transportation service using a fleet of remotely monitored, brand new 10 and 20tons refrigerated trucks and 3.5tons vans to maintain the integrity of fresh produce during distribution. 

ColdHubs produces returnable plastic crates for the appropriate packaging of fresh fruits and vegetables.  The crates are specially designed to optimize supply chain and logistics operations. They are stackable, durable, and lightweight, making them ideal for transporting goods efficiently, reducing transportation costs, and minimizing fresh produce damages.

ColdHubs ColdConnect Mobile Application enables customers to order and monitor cold storage, refrigerated transportation and packaging materials virtually.

Beyond technology, ColdHubs tackles limited awareness and knowledge base of food supply chain actors by organizing and imparting on them, comprehensive skills and knowledge on post-harvest management of perishable food using local language educational comics which educates them on best harvest methods, handling, sorting and grading, packing using returnable plastic crates, on-farm cooling, packing house, best practices in transportation, storage and preservation to avoid spoilage in the market, managing spoilage during sales, the ColdHubs advantage, nutritional value of high quality fruits and vegetables and financial gains due to high quality fruits and vegetables.

VACANCIES FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS:

  1. Job Title:  SALES AND MARKETING OFFICER 

Job Location: Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

The selected candidate will work under the  PLASTIC CRATE PRODUCTION MANAGER

undertaking the Sales of our Products from the Factory.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is required. 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the same or similar role. Previous experience in sales and marketing, preferably within the manufacturing or plastics industry. Experience with B2B (business-to-business) sales.

  • Ability to identify potential clients, understand their needs, and effectively communicate how the factory's plastic products can meet those needs.

  • Knowledge of marketing principles, including market research, product positioning, and branding strategies specific to the plastics industry.

  • Proficiency in negotiating contracts and agreements with clients, distributors, and suppliers.

  • Basic understanding of plastic production processes, materials, and product specifications to effectively communicate with production teams and address client queries.

  • Ability to collaborate with production managers, logistics teams, and other departments to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Familiarity with regulations, standards, and trends in the plastics manufacturing industry.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software and marketing analytics tools.

  • Experience in the plastic production fleet.

  • Should reside close to the job location or be ready to relocate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and implement marketing plans to promote the factory's plastic products. This involves identifying target markets, analyzing competition, and devising effective strategies to increase sales.

  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking, cold calling, and social media channels. Maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships. Address client concerns and queries promptly to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients. Negotiate terms and close sales agreements to meet revenue targets.

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences. Use insights to adjust marketing strategies and product positioning.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional materials such as brochures, catalogs, and online content. Ensure these materials effectively communicate the factory's product offerings and value proposition.

  • Track sales data and generate performance reports regularly. Analyze the results to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.

  • Represent the factory at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events. Showcase products, generate leads, and build relationships with potential customers and partners.

  • Coordinate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of orders and manage inventory levels effectively. Communicate customer requirements and feedback to internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and manage the marketing and sales budgets. Allocate resources effectively to maximize ROI and achieve business objectives.

2.                   JOB TITLE: SUPPLY CHAIN OFFICER (LOGISTICS)

REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor's degree or master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, economics, or a related field is required, with at least 3 years’ experience in the same or similar role.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize supply chain operations.

  • ability to identify issues within the supply chain and develop innovative solutions.

  • Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.

3.                  Job Title: MECHANIC 

Brand of Vehicles: DONGFENG REFRIGERATED TRCUKS 

Job Location: Nigeria (Anywhere but flexible to travel)

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least SSCE and above

  • Tertiary education will be an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with DONGFENG Refrigerated Trucks

  • Must have 10–15 years of working experience as a mechanic on those trucks in repairs, maintenance, etc.

  • Must be willing to be a full-time staff

  • Must be proficient in oral, written, or oral communication.

  • Must have worked with a renowned company associated with repairs, maintenance, or even the construction of trucks.

  • Must be good with vehicles diagnosis of electrical and mechanical

  • Location is anywhere but flexible to travel.

  • Always available to travel within a short notice period.

  • Knowledgeable in quality parts purchase and installation in the truck.

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Ready to resume immediately. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and filter replacements to ensure the vehicle operates efficiently.

  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.

  • Repair or replace faulty parts such as brakes, engines, transmissions, cooling systems, and refrigeration units to restore functionality.

4.                  JOB TITLE: REFRIGERATION TECHNICAL OFFICER 

Job Location: South-South

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 5 years of related job experience.

  • Demonstrated achievements in advancing projects through site identification.

  • Should reside close to the job location or be ready to relocate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lay out, construct, and install all components; maintain and re-build polyurethane-insulated cold room walls; fix and adjust doors; strip curtains; and install the lighting system.

  • Install, commission, operate, maintain, and re-build the refrigerating units of all solar-powered walk-in cold rooms, ice block-making machines, and vaccine storage fridges, and perform all electrical wiring.

  • Install data loggers and use the remote monitoring systems to monitor and report on the performance of refrigerating units in all solar-powered walk-in cold rooms, ice block-making machines, and vaccine storage fridges.

  • Undertake routine servicing and gas refills of refrigerating units in all solar-powered walk-in cold rooms, ice block-making machines, and vaccine storage fridges.

  • Undertake routine cleaning of all polyurethane-insulated cold room walls.

  • Work from engineered drawings, sketches, verbal instructions, handbooks, etc. to accomplish the required work.

  • Visualize three-dimensional shapes from a two-dimensional view and understand symbols, flag notes, and general notes.

  • Read and make control adjustments using such typical testing equipment as a Freon leak tester, a thermometer (for wet and dry bulbs), a sling psychrometer, a monometer, a velometer, a hydrometer, a humidistat, etc.

  • Keep records of the maintenance and repair of all cold room walls, cold room refrigerating units, ice block-making machines, and vaccine storage fridges.

  • Read and interpret facility or mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and/or schematics.

  • Keep an inventory of critical spare parts and ensure adequate material stocks.

  • Perform work only with safety materials and other PPE, and maintain site and environmental health and safety at all times.

  • Prepare and maintain log books and keep records of all installations.
