The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has applauded ColdHubs for its commitment to reducing food losses and waste in the country and says that with more of its facilities and innovation on board, there is hope to increase food production and reduce price inflation in food products.
During a courtesy visit to ColdHubs Headquarters in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, on April 5, 2024. The team that represented the ministry was Evaristus Ebere J., the principal agricultural officer, and Nicholas Odunze, assistant chief agricultural superintendent, state office.
Ebere further described the CEO of ColdHubs, Nnaemeka Ikegwuonu, as an Icon who has achieved so much in the supply chain industry, while disclosing that the impact of the company has been felt around the country as the federal government has recognised its effort to agricultural development.
Nnaemeka Ikegwuonu, addressing the team, appealed to the federal government to assist the logistics team to ensure that the vehicles are not highly taxed and harassed on transit.
“Our refrigerator truck passes through over 90 check units in the course of transporting perishable goods across the country. During this period, they are harassed and subjected to all kinds of interrogation and humiliation, therefore causing unnecessary delay” he stated.
He appealed to the federal government to partner with ColdHubs to ensure quick delivery of people's products, to achieve the main aim of transportation.
