International Day of Zero Waste: A Reflection for ColdHubs

As we commemorate the International Day of Zero Waste, we are filled with so much determination to continue our mission of restructuring food storage while pushing for more sustainable practices to improve agricultural productivity across Africa. This day holds profound significance for us at ColdHubs, as it serves as a poignant reminder of the urgency to combat food waste and environmental degradation.

Reflection on our Journey

For us, every day is an opportunity to innovate, inspire, and empower. From our humble beginnings to our current reach across multiple African countries, our journey has been guided by a steadfast commitment to zero waste principles. We've witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of our refrigeration technology on minimizing food losses, empowering farmers, and fostering economic resilience within communities.

Innovation for Change

Since 2015, we have been rendering services across the food supply chain using our 3tons, 10tons and 100tons ColdHubs, Refrigerated Trucks, and Returnable Crates, to reduce food spoilage across Nigeria.

Through all these, we strive to redefine the narrative surrounding food spoilage and plastic waste management and demonstrate that sustainable solutions are within reach.

Empowering Communities for a Sustainable Future

Our work goes far beyond refrigeration; we believe in the power of training, education, and community engagement to drive lasting change in our environment. Using our post-harvest management training and comics, we empower farmers and individuals with the knowledge and tools to embrace sustainability. By adopting a culture of responsibility and resourcefulness, we can pave the way towards a waste-free future.

Celebrating Progress and Renewed Commitment

On this day, March 30, we join the rest of the world to celebrate the “ “International Day of Zero Waste,” reassure ourselves of the progress we have made, and recommit ourselves to the journey ahead.

We are inspired by the resilience of the communities and are humbled by the opportunity to be agents of change that pioneer the fight against food losses. We look to do more in the future, expand our reach, deepen our impact, and create an avenue for another sustainable tomorrow.
