Fruits and Vegetable Retailers in Benin Applause ColdHubs Facilities

Vendors in the Fruit and Vegetable Market in Benin City, Nigeria, have Lauded ColdHub's efforts towards reducing losses in perishable produce.

The Community Chief, Ambrose Sarkin, disclosed this during the commissioning of a new ColdHubs facility in Benin City on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Sarkin noted that the innovation is the first of its kind in the city.

"I must commend ColdHubs for designing a structure that helps us extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables. Our traders can now make extra money, especially meat butchers, who travel miles to store their produce in a cold room where they are charged a lot of money to store it.

"With the increase in electricity tariff and fuel subsidy removal, I can confidently say that it came at the right time, "he added.

One of the Vegetable sellers, Blessing Ifem, expressed her gratitude to Coldhubs while stating that she never knew there was a technology that could save vegetables from spoilage.
