Amaka Anyasodo, Sales and Marketing Manager for ColdHubs in a lecture section with farmers, wholesalers and retailers in Mile 12 Market, Lagos State. Water and Energy for Food is a development organization scaling groundbreaking water-energy-food innovations to impact food security, gender, and reduce poverty in an environmentally sustainable way.
ColdHubs, in partnership with Water and Energy for Food, convened a customer re-engagement program with farmers, wholesalers, and retailers to exchange thoughts on the impact and advancement of cooling services across regions in Nigeria and other neighboring countries.
The core objectives of the program are to enlighten smallholder farmers on the need to continue to use cooling services to maintain the quality of their produce, reduce losses, and increase their income.
Re-engagement programs are bonding times where the ColdHubs team and its users interact and discuss challenges for further development of the facility.
“This year's re-engagement is not all about questions and answers or getting feedback; we are teaching farmers how to access the digital market and ways to develop agribusiness across their shores of operation’’.
We conduct this program at least in different quarters of the year; the impact of the engagement program cannot be overemphasized as it helps to improve our innovations and performance annually,” Amaka said.
The project is cutting across over 20 states in Nigeria and the Benin Republic, bringing together not just ColdHubs customers but also representatives from different agricultural chains.
With the aim of reaching about 3,000 farmers, the project will also provide sustainable development in food and farming systems to help farmers scale up their production.
It also emphasized climate resilience and food security while providing comprehensive support to farmers across the entire value chain.
