More Food To Be Saved As ColdHubs Logistic Kickoff

ColdHubs Limited is looking at increasing the more than 20,000 tons of food it saved in 2020 with the introduction of its logistics unit.

ColdHubs Logistics which will provide refrigerated food logistics services for smallholder farmers, retailers, and wholesalers of fresh produce said the service is designed to greatly reduce spoilage of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable food.

The Company said in an official message that the brand new service will be kicking off with four trucks and more to be added soon.

“Every state of the country will be our pickup or delivering point, while we will be replicating what we have done with our 100% solar-powered cold rooms with the trucks”

“In developing countries, it is estimated that 45% of food is lost due to lack of affordable cold storage, inadequate transportation systems, and lack of knowledge about proper harvesting and postharvest handling. Temperature controlled logistics is critical to prevent food from spoiling and to maintain the food’s ideal shelf life.” The statement reads.

The statement further stated that correctly storing and transporting food in refrigerated vehicles is a necessary part of getting food from the farm to the table and ColdHubs Logistics will provide flexible, high-integrity cold chain solutions that enable users to meet their demand, with maximum efficiency, maximum product shelf life with no waste or spoilage.
