The management of ColdHubs said they are thrilled with the response their hubs are getting in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.
They revealed that storage has commenced after previously announcing the completion of seven hubs in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria and the completion of a Postharvest Management Educational Program.
The Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Igbokwe Bright Benjamin said it is always a thing of joy to see all the efforts paying off.
He said that even when ColdHubs a very strategic job in the food chain, storage will always depend on the understanding and will of the people.
“We normally take the potential users on a three-day Postharvest Management Educational Program where teach them the importance of cold storage, how improves their profits and how it keeps the food fresh and healthy, but the choice is theirs at the end of the day”
“In some areas, people want to stick to the old methods and don’t care if it is making them lose money”
“In other areas, it takes just one user to show others how it works and we are glad that such users are turning up in our North-East hubs”, Mr. Igbokwe said.
In partnership with the Government of Japan and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), ColdHubs was able to build seven hubs in the following markets.
1. Jimeta Modern Market, Yola, Adamawa State – Single Hub

Mr.Igbokwe revealed that the next thing for the company is to see that the number increases.
