Children’s Day 2026: ColdHubs Promotes Food Safety Awareness Among Future Leaders

At ColdHubs, creating impact goes beyond preserving food and reducing post-harvest losses. It also means investing in the people who will shape the future of our communities.

To mark the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, the ColdHubs team visited schools within its host communities to engage pupils in interactive learning sessions focused on food safety, food waste reduction, and healthy food handling practices.

The initiative formed part of the company’s ongoing commitment to community development, education, and building a more sustainable food system across Africa.

Teaching Food Safety Through Fun and Learning

During the school visits, pupils participated in storytelling sessions, discussions, games, and practical demonstrations designed to make food safety concepts easy to understand and remember.

The activities introduced children to simple but important lessons, including:

  • The importance of handling food safely
  • How food waste affects families and communities
  • Proper food storage practices
  • Healthy consumption habits
  • The role everyone can play in protecting food resources

By making learning engaging and interactive, the sessions encouraged pupils to think about how their daily actions can contribute to healthier homes and communities.

Building Awareness for a More Sustainable Future

Food safety and food waste remain important challenges across many communities. Educating children at an early age helps build awareness that can create lasting positive change.

Children are not only the leaders of tomorrow; they are active participants in shaping the future today. By equipping them with practical knowledge about responsible food handling and consumption, schools and organizations can help strengthen food security and public health over the long term.

The enthusiasm, curiosity, and participation displayed by the pupils reinforced the importance of community-based education and awareness initiatives.

Community Partnership and Appreciation

Speaking during the event, Mrs. Ifeoma, Proprietress of Good Shepherd’s International School, Orji, Imo State, expressed appreciation to ColdHubs for selecting the school as one of the beneficiaries of the Children’s Day outreach programme.

She commended the organization for its efforts in promoting food safety awareness among young learners and encouraged ColdHubs to expand its cold chain infrastructure within the school’s axis to further support the surrounding community.

Committed to Positive Community Impact

At ColdHubs, sustainability extends beyond technology and cold chain infrastructure. It includes supporting education, awareness, and community development initiatives that contribute to healthier and more resilient societies.

As we celebrate Children’s Day, we remain committed to creating positive social impact through knowledge-sharing, food safety education, and sustainable solutions that strengthen food security across Africa.

Happy Children’s Day to all the amazing children helping to shape a brighter future.
